Great Little Diner in the Big City

I've been going to Triple A since I was a kid back in the 1970s, and I introduced this hidden gem to some co-workers who are also true "foodies." Now they're hooked on the place! It's very no-frills, old-fashioned Southern-style comfort food at its best. Don't be discouraged by the stuck-in-the-1970s decor - it's the food, stupid! From the homemade rolls and corn muffins, iced tea and coffee to the F-R-E-S-H mustard greens, potato salad and Navy beans (it IS next to Farmer's Market, after all), you cannot go wrong with it! Try the "Daily Specials" first to get a feel for the place, or if you want to really experience good Southern cooking, call ahead (45 minutes) for the freshest, tastiest fried chicken this side of Kentucky! The bread pudding I had was better than Brennan's version and much less expensive. For lunch, try to get there before 11:30 am or after 1 pm to avoid the rush. Weekend breakfasts can not be beat! But SHHHH - don't tell all your friends - let this gem stay hidden so you can enjoy it!
