This is a great place for German food right down in the Loop. As the links say, it's been around forever. I've been going there for over 30-yrs myself. While they serve up great German favorites like schnitzel, rouladen, sausages with the appropriate sides, they are also big on American favorites like pot roast, roast turkey (the real thing, not a loaf). The place is frequented by tourists, shoppers, business folks, and a lot of students from nearby law schools and universities. Make sure that you stop in at the bar - up until 1969 it was for men only. Only recently did they bring in stools. It was always stand and drink.
