Went during lunch several days ago. Service was rather sluggish. Food wasn't that great, compared to other indian restaurants. Some items from the buffet seemed days old, or recooked more than once. Asked for some fresh food and the plates were taken back and came back with same quality of food. Not very impressed. Lack of cleanliness as well in the restrooms and dining area.

It took me a little while to write this up, but couple of months back I went to this restaurant with 4 of my friends. We were first placed at a table that was right next to the bathrooms. Smell was awful, so we requested to be moved to a different table. The new table was away from the bathrooms, but it was still a little damp. We were starving, so went ahead and ordered. Food was okay and suddenly the waiter filled my water glass and I got a bonus COCKROACH with my water re-fill! We plainly notified the waiter and he rudely took the glass, got another glass of water, slammed it on the table and left. It was terrible. They also included 18% tip in our bill. Due to this lousy service we tried to complain and the standard "manager not available" answer was given. We asked the guy to remove the tip and he did and I paid. Once I got home, I realized they charged my credit card with the extra tip. I called back the hotel to settle the matters with the manager and I told him (or whoever was on duty) the entire story and how ridiculous it was. The guy said "You are from out of town. If you were here, we could have given you some free food to compensate". I said "No, thank you. I don't like roaches in my food/beverages".

I have eaten there many times over the years. I highly recommend arriving there at 1130 sharp (right when they open) this ensures that you will have all buffet items untouched and piping hot. I recommend the lunch buffet versus ordering off the menu. Lunch buffet is around $8.50 where dinner menu is more expensive and could be a bit confusing what to order. At the lunch buffet it's all there and it is incredible. When I go there I prepare for it days in advance by fasting and then sitting at their table starting off with their wonderful diced vegetable salad and also lettuce topped with their whipped yogurt. I also have plenty of naan bread there with small cups of mint sauce and whipped yogurt standing by for dipping. The food selections on the buffet are usually constant however, occasionally butter chicken replaces the goat and the bean dishes (which are superb) are different and the rice pudding is replaced by goolob jamins, which are a form of artwork in their own right. If you are not sure what goolobs are, imagine a large glass punch bowl filled with what looks like golden brown hushpuppies floating in a delicate, thin syrup. Goolobs however, have a mysterious delicate texture that words cannot describe. The other items on the buffet, eggplant dish, saat pinar with hidden cheese blocks, rice, tandoor chicken(sometimes dry, sometimes juicy),goat(sometimes tough, sometimes tender)I joke and say ah, they must of caught an old goat today. They also have a paper thin lentil cracker, sometimes as big as 7 inches round that is delicious. All of those items I enjoy very much. When it comes down to the service, the waiters don't come by your table much, they come and fill your water occasionally and I tell them how much I am enjoying the lunch. A friend told me the waiters give you space and a not rushed approach as a courtesy and thats also why you always have ask for your check.
